Love Day and A Four-Day Weekend

Why hello little blog that I have been abandoning for so long. It's been a busy and amazing school year, but other than that I really have no excuse for my absence the past few (many) months. Anyways...

Second semester conferences were Wednesday evening and all day yesterday, and it was both exhausting and great. I was again reminded how much I love what I do. Multiple times I had parents tell me their student loves my class, and each time it made my heart skip a beat with happiness. It definitely made up for being at conferences all day on "Love Day".

That being said, it was also great to come home knowing I have a four-day weekend ahead of me to relax and also be productive; our district is closed today, and President's day is Monday. Cupid and my sweet sister visited during the day, so presents and sweet treats were waiting for me when I finally got home:

:)
My Valentine! I love this man and the many adventures we have taken together.

Today I got to sleep in a bit, though I did have a little trouble this morning. After the hubby left for work, instead of spreading out (we had the whole bed you know) someone decided to be a bed hog...

See how much room Giddy gave me? It's her job to be in bed if someone else is (and sometimes even when no one else is) and to snuggle them half to death.

It's an exciting day in our house today because we are getting new carpet! Since the girls aren't the best helpers in the world, they got to go to daycare. Gert made sure to rest up on the way there.

Currently, the house is a disaster (it looks like we're moving) and there is a lot of commotion and banging as the old carpet moves out and the new moves in. I'm sequestered in the kitchen corner surrounded by a couch, coffee table, many chairs, and many more odds and ends from different rooms in our house. See?

Thankfully I have a four-day weekend to put my house back together, clean, and get organized - something we have needed to do for awhile, so this is a good push. I also get to bask in the glory of it's prettiness and clean, new carpet smell. Can't wait! Here's a sneak peek...

Happy weekend everyone, and I will hopefully be back to give this blog a little more lovin' and let you see the rest of the place when it's done and put back together.
